Back home
I am back home now, trying to adjust back into the routine. Only 1 more month of this crazy work, school, internship schedule. Look for an update from the big graduation party/birthday BBQ we have planned for the end of June.
Dancing at the Pine Lake Country Club
Kate and her dad - I don't think there was a dry eye in the whole place.
I'm not sure what was happening here. Does this compare to singing 'love shack' at Kelly's wedding?!?Kelly and Hayes were having a good time too! Who ever said the man can't dance?!?!
Smooth move by Brian to start me off with a dance and then shuffle me over to the MN boy.
Cake / Flowers
The cake was beautiful - and delicious too!
The flowers on our table were so bright and fun. My favorite: Gerbera Daisy.California Friends
The crew from California were able to connect again at the wedding! Brian and Kelly (on the left) recently moved from Oakland, CA to Portland, OR. Rachel is now living in Grand Rapids, MI and still does some work training dogs in California.

Drinks were flowing and appetizers were served as we waited for the happy couple to arrive!

Sky Ranch
It was snowing when I arrived on Monday afternoon. I was smart and packed my winter hat! There were a handful of people at the camp trying to prepare for a week of "environmental education" with young adults. I stayed in the lodge and kept to myself...it felt good to reflect on all the fun memories at Sky Ranch!
Moose
Good thing I was in a rather large vehicle when I crossed paths with these guys! I went for a hike today at the camp and I saw fresh moose droppings and tracks...my heart started racing and I picked up the pace. I can barely walk past the geese in MN, so it was a little risky to be on a solo hike in the mountains of Colorado!
The Turn, The Burn
This 15 mile gravel road takes about 1 hour to drive...It is a 5,000 foot incline and there are many switchbacks!
There was a forest fire in this area...I want to say it was 1997. The vegetation is starting to come back, which is amazing! I noticed a huge difference after just 7 years.Back up the Canyon
I rented a Jeep and drove up the mountain to Sky Ranch. I worked there in summer of 1999 and 2000 as a camp counselor. The road hasn't changed, but I felt the adrenaline rush as if it were the first time I was up in the mountains.
Lunch
We had lunch at my favorite pizza place in Colorado. It was so good! I'm really glad my parents came out to support me. I took them to the Denver airport on Monday morning and they flew to Cancun for a conference.

Now that is more like it. They have a sign for me and everything! It looks like they were waiting a while at Mile 12.
The beginning
The 15 mile mini marathon started at Gateway Park in the Poudre Canyon. It was awesome to run along the river, but not so much fun on the hills. I played it safe and walked up this one. The altitude did not mess with me too much, which was nice. It was 30 degrees when we started - no rain!
Early Morning Departure
We had to load the bus at 5am to bring us to the starting point! I am not a morning person and this was torture having my father taking pictures of me waiting in line.
Ben & Meghan
We stayed with Ben & Meghan on Saturday and Sunday night. They moved to Fort Collins in December with their 2 children, Zach (3) and Hannah(1). The kids kept us entertained all weekend!
Dinner
My mom and her friend Marcia in the kitchen...getting ready for dinner. Marcia lives in Laramie, WY and drove down to Fort Collins, CO to spend the weekend with us! (These two have been friends since High School)
